Construction Superintendent

Denver-based homebuilder is looking for an enthusiastic addition to its team. The builder is looking for a Construction Superintendent to oversee the residential project. The responsibility of the Construction Superintendent is to coordinate and manage the performance of the construction work by the trade professionals on their assigned project, to compel construction activities to happen according to plan and to ensure that their projects are at all times aesthetically pleasing.

Essential job duties and functions will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Construction schedules are being met daily
  • Understand and maintain the current lead times for subcontractors and suppliers and provide them with copies of the schedule and other required materials on a timely basis
  • Complete daily job site reports and quality assurance inspection reports
  • Homes are scheduled with a final management walk prior to homeowner orientation
  • Ensure each subcontractor’s understanding of and strict adherence to established scopes of work, schedules, plans, specifications, and quality standards
  • Verify daily that all scheduled trades are present on the job site
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all job sites, adjacent streets, neighboring properties, models, and spec homes
  • Be knowledgeable and enforce all job site rules, regulations and the safety program
  • Maintain all established erosion control measures
  • Ensure each home is built in accordance with established budget parameters
  • Review plan accuracy and properly communicate any problems to the Purchasing and Design Departments
  • Conduct job site safety meetings on a regular basis and maintain documentation in the appropriate OSHA file

Candidates for this position must possess the following:

  • Four + years’ experience in single-family residential construction
  • Experience in both production and custom home building is preferred but not required
  • A four-year college degree is preferred but not required: preferably in construction management
  • Current and appropriate knowledge of all national and local codes
  • Structural and application knowledge
  • Estimating skills
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • An absolute commitment to attention to detail
